The ASUS ZenFone 8 has a 4:3 aspect ratio

Computex 2015 is just a week away and we expect ASUS to unveil a bunch of new tablets there. The company has been launching several products under its Zen moniker, including smartphones and a smartwatch. But the next Zen product we’re probably going to see is a tablet.

Tablets have been losing their momentum, but not all device makers are ready to let them go and focus on something else. ASUS is one of them, and to be fair, the company has brought some fairly decent models on the market.

Word of an upcoming lineup of ZenPad tablets has surfaced before, but this time we come back with a couple of images showing us the face of one of these upcoming models (as seen at AusDroid).

Like Apple and most recently Acer and Samsung, ASUS seems to be the latest device maker to abide to the 4:3 aspect ratio, which is pretty evident from the images. The tablet also appears to have front-facing speakers, which are pretty in-handy if you’re trying to watch a movie or a video on your slate.

ASUS and Intel once again partner up for new Zen products

The back of the tablet, which by the way is probably the ZenPad 8, reveals that the slate will be powered by an Intel processor, which is not surprising given the long-lasting relation the two companies have had (an Intel chip powers the ZenFone 2 flagship, too).

The back seems to be made out of some sort of touch material with a leather-like strip located on the edge of the tablet, which probably makes the device easier to grip.

We can also take a look at the rear-facing camera of unknown capacity. Other details visible in the renders include a power button sitting below the volume rocker on the right part and a 3.5mm jack located on top.

A microSD card slot will probably be available as well. ASUS is expected to unveil two ZenPad models at Computex, one with a 7-inch display and the other with an 8-inch form factor (probably the one you see in the renders).

The 8-inch model is poised to be a high-end affair boasting a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution, while the 7-incher will just bring an unimpressive 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution.
