When Google released the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, it was made clear that it was just a matter of time before existing tablets got it.

ASUS still felt that an e-mail update was warranted though, so it sent it to owners of its Transfer tablets.

According to the one that AnandTech published, the Transformer Pad, Transformer Pad Prime and Transformer Pad infinity will all receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates.

The rollout won't happen immediately though. The e-mail gives the very vague time frame of “in the coming months.”

Nevertheless, with this we are doubly certain that ASUS will upgrade the software of all slates in its lineup. And yes, that includes the original Transformer TF101.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system was unleashed upon the world in late June. Go here to read the most important changes.
