ASUS has really managed to keep itself very busy lately, launching all sorts of new and attractive products around CeBIT time, with one of the latest such items to be officially shown being the P1 LED-based projector.

Although ASUS is not traditionally associated to projection solutions, it seems that the Taiwan-based company has managed to do a pretty decent job with their new P1, that manages to combine an ultra-compact, ultra-portable form factor with some very OK display-related capabilities.

The P1 projector measures just around 113mm x 33mm x 128mm and weighs less than 400g, but that doesn't stop it from providing very good quality images, the device supporting 1280 x 800 pixels resolution as well as a very good brightness level, of 200 lumens.

Plus, given the fact that it uses LED technology in order to generate the required amount of light, the new P1 projector is also very power-efficient, not to mention that its estimated functioning life is close to 30,000 hours.

In terms of image size, the P1 projectors from Asus also offers a couple of interesting features, as it is capable of generating images with sizes ranging between 15 and 200 inches, from a very short distance (projection distances range between 0.5 and 2 meters).

Last, but certainly not least, it's important to point out the fact that the new projector from Asus comes equipped with multiple connectivity options, including here USB 2.0, as well as composite and VGA components, plus an SD memory card reader.

Furthermore, the projector also offers a multimedia player function (plays content stored onto SD memory cards), while its twin 2W built-in speakers will really come in handy whenever the user requires some audio playback as well, to accompany the video.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to come across any pricing and/or availability information for the P1 LED projector, but we'll keep you posted, as soon as we find out more details on this matter.
