LED technology has allowed manufacturers to build monitors and HDTV slimmer than ever before, this leading to a series of impressive designs, AOC managing to score more then just a few point in my book with its latest offerings that range in sizes from 18.5” to 23”.

Aimed particularly at sophisticated users that look for the ultimate design statement for their office or home, AOC's new widescreen monitors feature a really impressive 12.9mm profile making them one of the thinnest computer monitors available out there.

To further complement the stylish design, AOC has also integrated all the controls inside the base station, all of these being touch-sensitive and backlit, lighting up as soon as a finger comes near them, so finding the right key in the dark shouldn't prove to be much of a problem.

Furthermore, these monitors also use an innovative concept for their base, as it can be tilted by approximately 90 degrees in order to transform it into a wall bracket.

Moving past the design aspect, AOC's four new offerings (e943Fws - 18.5″, e2043Fs - 20″, e2243Fws / e2243Fw - 21.5″ and e2343F/e2343Fs – 23″) feature a 5ms response time, 50,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and come equipped with either VGA and/or DVI-D ports (with HDCP), HDMI sadly missing from the package.

Resolution wise, the 18.5 model can display 1366x768 pixels, the 20 inch e2043Fs coming with a 1600x900 HD+ panel while the remaining options feature a 1920x1080 Full HD resolution.

When it comes down to pricing, AOC hasn't supplied us with any informations, but I expect these monitors to cost a pretty penny since great looks seldom come cheaply.

Whatever they may end up being priced at, these should prove to be really interesting options for the design weary, the only problem that I see having to make due with the lack of an HDMI or a DisplayPort input.
