There are already many types of displays on the market, but BenQ still seems to be keen on offering some variety by combining LED backlighting and a VA panel in its creation of the 24-inch monitor known as VW2420H.

As was the case in the past, BenQ's latest move on the monitor market is not exactly a new product release.

The 24-inch VW2420H has already been selling in Japan for quite a while, and it seems that it was popular enough for its maker to send it to other regions.

The region it is now headed towards is Europe, where pre-orders can already be set, though availability is still a way off.

There are several traits that make the VW2420H stand out by a fair margin compared to its various peers.

The native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels is not it, since most new panels usually support it already.

The main thing that gives it its appeal is the contrast ratio of 3,000:1, which corresponds to a dynamic contrast ratio (DCR) of 20,000,000:1.

There is also the company's Senseye Human Vision technology, which improves image clarity, detail and color richness.

Other specifications include viewing angles of 178 degrees, GTG response time of 8ms, D-Sub, DVI and HDMI 1.3 video inputs, for compatibility with a wide range of graphics adapters.

“VW2420H is built to bring you an absolute personal entertainment with VA LED panel and HDMI,” states the official product page.

“The delicate stemware-like neck of the monitor, as well as the smooth curvaceous back gives you another 180° of beauty. It’s a sophisticated harmony of the technology and contemporary design in 358° all around,” the company added.

The BenQ VW2420H consumes 40W of power during normal operation and 1W during standby, while it also has the benefit of HDCP compatibility. BenQ will soon start shipping this monitor for €232.
