ADATA has just launched two new lines of SSDs called SP900 and SP800, on its official website. Both SSDs use new optimized firmware that allows them to achieve greater performance results.

The new products are currently available in the US and Canada.

The SP900 line has a maximum sequential read speed of 550 MB/s and a write speed of 520 MB/s with random 4K writes of 85,000 IOPS.

The flash drive comes in multiple storage capacities, including affordable 64 GB and 128 GB versions along with a 256 GB edition.

The flash drives are aimed at systems that support the SATA 6 Gb/s specification.

The Premier SP800 is, surprisingly, only SATA II compliant and has 32 GB and 64 GB capacity. Its maximum sequential read speed is only 280 MB/s and the write speed is a maximum of 260 MB/s.

The maximum random 4K write speed just 44,000 IOPS for the SP800 series.

The company is well known for providing products of satisfying quality at an affordable price.

There is no info on the type of memory used. We don’t yet know if it’s asynchronous or synchronous.

ADATA is usually straight with the company’s customers and clearly states the type of NAND memory used inside its drives.

At the moment of writing of this article the company’s website was down, so we can’t provide more info.

Considering that it seems that an SSD price war is coming soon, and that the legendary Crucial M4 SSDs are at a record all-time low price, ADATA’s new lines should be offered with a very modest price tag.

However, pricing has not been made available yet.
