The PN-310 will be an entry-level phone with basic features.

The Federal Communications Commission has approved a new phone from the mobile manufacturer Pantech, the PN310, a device that, as the published pictures show, will be launched on the American carrier Verizon's network, to give a happy time to the crowd that wants entry-level phones with a small price justified by a basic set of features.

And it will surely do that because you won't get anything fancy on this handset, a cell phone that likes the team spirit and will be the perfect match to the digital camera you've just bought a few days ago because it just doesn't have the necessary means to compete with it in the snapshot department. If the camera would have the capability to make phone calls or send text messages, this would be a whole other story to talk about.

The PN-310 has a clamshell form factor and comes with two displays, the internal one offering 65.000 colors, and this pretty much covers the things that this phone could brag about. Not a very outstanding spec sheet but one that will enable this handset to do what a cell phone should to: make and receive voice calls and send/receive text messages. Pretty basic but also a good choice if you're not the type of person that needs a phone with multimedia features or some other high-tech integrated technology.

As said in the beginning of the article, you will be able to buy this phone if you are a Verizon customer and this should be happening very soon because from what we have learned in the past, the devices that get the thumbs up from the FCC get into the fast lane and their market release becomes imminent.
