Due to price wars in China, higher demand for LED TVs and, to a lesser extent, the 40 times increase in 4K UHD TV shipments, many TVs will ship in 2013, at least as many as in 2012.

Some may not know just who will have their brand proudly displayed on most of them.

According to DisplaySearch analyst firm, Samsung and LG will be the terrible duo.

Together, they will ship around 75 million, which will make up 35% of the global total.

Speaking of the global total, it will be of 216 million, 6% above the figure attained in 2012.

Sadly, what kind of TVs they will reveal this year was left shrouded in mystery. One might say Philips is proving a lot more open about its so-called plans so far.
