Mobile phone carrier AT&T seems set to add some new, highly appealing devices to its offering in the not too far future, and some info on one of them has just started to emerge.

Among other handsets and wireless devices, AT&T is expected to bring to shelves a new Android-based tablet PC, which should be manufactured by Taiwan-based HTC Corporation.

Called HTC Puccini, the upcoming device should arrive on the market as the successor of HTC Flyer/View 4G, which packs a 7-inch touchscreen display.

However, unlike the already unveiled tablet PC, the upcoming device should sport a larger, 10-inch display, as well as support for LTE connectivity.

Basically, the Puccini, provided that this would indeed be the name the new tablet PC would be launched on shelves with, should become the first device that would support AT&T's upcoming 4G LTE network.

No specific info on this slate emerged for the time being, except for the said details on its connectivity and screen size.

However, we should expect it to run under Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system. Most probably, it would also include support for HTC's Scribe capacitive pen input technology.

No details on when would the tablet arrive on shelves emerged either, but rumor has it that it could hit the shelves as soon as next month, at an yet unknown price.

While this is only a rumor for the time being, I might very well pan out, especially since HTC confirmed plans to launch larger Android tablets before the end of the ongoing year.

Other mobile phone makers around the world already came to the market with tablet PCs that sport screens measuring about 10-inches, and HTC should join the party sometime in mid-2011, rumor has it.

What remains to be seen is whether AT&T would indeed be the first carrier to add the said Puccini tablet to its offering.
