Yes boys and girls, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened has reached a Gold status, as cdv Software Entertainment USA has recently announced. The full game is set to ship to North American retailers on September 4, 2007. Below, you have a bunch of details on the 3D horror adventure title for the PC.

In The Awakened, players will take on the role of Sherlock Holmes in a fantastic new mystery involving dark secrets and unholy terrors. The game's story goes pretty much as how everyone knows from the movies and books. Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened combines the eerie mysticism of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos with the mystery-solving powers of the great detective Sherlock Holmes.

The Awakened is the first fully 3D Sherlock Holmes game, and will feature rich graphics and detailed environments. The official report says that the classic point-and-click interface will allow gamers to explore five distinctly chilling environments while solving mysteries and completing puzzles based on object physics and lighting. With 60 unique characters roaming the game world, it will be difficult to tell who is friend or foe in this, Sherlock Holmes' most challenging, and horrifying, adventure.

Key features of Sherlock Holmes - The Awakened:

■ A new, darker take on Sherlock Holmes with the classic literary hero encountering minions of the Old Gods ■ Dozens of challenging yet intuitive puzzles to challenge players ■ The first fully 3D Sherlock Holmes adventure with rich, immersive graphics to capture the player's imagination ■ A classical point-and-click interface makes the game accessible to players of all skill levels ■ A storyline filled with exciting twists and turns, where you're never sure who's an enemy, or an ally

Remember, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened has just gone gold, while North American retailers are expecting it on their shelves on September 4, this year. Until then, stay close for updates on cdv Software's franchises.
