Great news for Sprint customers, as the carrier, along with Samsung and HTC, has just kicked off the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat for a couple of high-end smartphones: Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and HTC 10.

According to Samsung, the Android 7.0 Nougat update will first be available for Galaxy S7/S7 edge users who participated in the beta program last month. The update is pushed FOTA, so make sure to head to Settings / Software Update and check for its availability.

It's also worth mentioning that those who already run an Android 7.0 Nougat beta build will receive a smaller update that weighs in at 168MB. The rest of Sprint Galaxy S7/S7 edge users will have to download the whole 1.2GB package in order to upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat.

The update contains a new UX and various performance modes, as well as improved usability of the Notification feature and Quick settings button. In addition, enhanced usability of the Multi window feature has been added too.

The official changelog doesn't mention any security patches, so we can't confirm whether Samsung phones will run January or February security updates.

In the same piece of news, PhoneArena reports Sprint is now seeding Android 7.0 Nougat for the HTC 10 too. The update is about 1.3GB in size and contains various system enhancements, aside from the usual new features and improvements included in the new version of the OS.

Sprint customers who own the HTC 10 can download the update via mobile data or Wi-Fi connection, but the carrier recommends the latter in order to avoid additional charges.

Keep in mind that updating to Android 7.0 Nougat will not delete any of your content, so you don't really need to back your information.

The update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take a few days to reach to all HTC 10 units at Sprint.
