In November last year, HTC was one of the first smartphone makers to roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat software update to HTC 10 owners, but the rollout was recently halted due to some unknown bugs. The latest reports reveal that HTC has resumed the rollout of the Nougat update.

HTC seems to have overcome the issues that it had with the Android 7.0 Nougat update and started pushing out the version to HTC 10 users in the UK. The update brings the phone’s software to version 2.41.401.3 and has a size of about 1.17GB. The update includes the latest Android security patch from Google, as well as some system enhancements.

HTC recommends HTC 10 owners to use a Wi-Fi connection for the update, considering that 1.17GB of data must be downloaded, which could result in additional carrier charges if mobile data is used. Moreover, the update won’t erase any content found on the phone, but it’s always a good idea to back up important information.

HTC halted 7.0 Nougat rollout last week

Reports from last week revealed that HTC might roll out the Nougat update in three weeks’ time, HTC 10 owners are surely pleased that the company managed to solve the bugs much sooner.

Last week, HTC One A9 started getting Android 7.0 Nougat in the US, so it was only a matter of time until all HTC 10 owners could get it. HTC isn’t the only smartphone maker to halt the Nougat update, Samsung also stopped the rollout to Galaxy S7 and S7 edge phones, and Sony made the same decision more recently.

Samsung did restart the rollout a few days ago, while Sony reps said that the update would arrive to users soon, but didn’t provide an actual timeframe. The Android 7.0 Nougat update brings new features to HTC 10 smartphones, including reduced battery consumption, multi-window mode for switching between several apps, and a new notifications area with quick reply.
