14 DAY TRIAL // After rebranding its flagship line from the Xperia Z to the Xperia X, Sony has already released a few devices this year, among which Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia X Performance. Now, it seems that the company is working on a new smartphone, which has recently been spotted on GFXBench.
The new handset features the code number F8331, and by the looks of things, it runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, according to Xperia Blog. It also features a 5.1-inch display with 1080p resolution, which seems an interesting choice for Sony, considering that many of its competitors have equipped their latest smartphones with QHD panels.
Nevertheless, the post on GFXBench also shows that Sony's smartphone will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Seeing as Snapdragon 821 was released yesterday, Sony might very well change its mind and incorporate the new processor in this smartphone. The listing also shows that the handset has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, together with a 21MP rear camera and a 12MP front one.

Other specs haven't been disclosed, but Sony might not make much of an impression on the market with this new device, given the fact that display resolution isn't the best and RAM capacity is quite low, compared to other upcoming flagships.
In addition, Sony has just made the Xperia X line available worldwide, after unveiling it in February this year. The line features the Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia X Performance, with the last one being the high-end model. Xperia X Performance has some specs that are similar to the ones for smartphone spotted on GFXBench. Processor model and RAM capacity seem to be the same, but the handset released earlier this year had a more powerful rear camera of 23MP, with a 13MP unit on the front.
The smartphone could be announced during IFA conference this September, and more information will surely surface until then.
