Gresso, the international company that manufactures luxury phones, has just unveiled its new masterpiece, the Meridian Diamond Edition. As the name suggests, Gresso's new Meridian phone is among the most expensive on the market.

Even though there are luxury phones that sell for half a million dollars, the Meridian Diamond Edition is definitely not for everyone at no less than $30,000 outright. Those who can afford it should know that Gresso will open up pre-orders starting next week, on December 26.

In case you're wondering why the Meridian is so expensive, here are a few details that will get you up to speed with Gresso's work. First of all, this is a limited edition phone, as Gresso will only release 450 units.

The Meridian Diamond Edition is assembled manually, and Gresso claims that it takes up to 18 hours to make one device whole.

The smartphone is made of standard titanium, while each key is made from grade-5 titanium and encrusted with a .1kt diamond.

Depending on what version of the smartphone you want, you can get the Meridian featuring a PVD titanium chassis and an 18K yellow gold keyboard, or the cheapest variant with titanium body and stainless steel keyboard.

The one with stainless steel keyboard starts at $3,000, while the 18K yellow gold model's price starts at $5,000.

Unfortunately, not much is known about the specs, but if you're really interested, the folks at Gresso will provide you with all the details.

We do know that the Meridian comes with dual-SIM support and a modest 3-megapixel camera. Also, there are 32GB of internal memory inside and, obviously, there's no microSD card.

While Gresso doesn't state what battery powers the Meridian, it does mention that it should offer up to 5.3 hours of talk time or up to 375 hours of standby time.
