14 DAY TRIAL // Vertu has just unveiled the second-generation Signature Touch smartphone. Developed in collaboration with Bentley, the new smartphone is now available for purchase for at least $9,000 outright.
The sequel to the Signature Touch launched back in 2014, the new handset ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.
Also, it packs some of the latest technologies available on the market, which is rather rare for luxury phones.
For example, Vertu's Signature Touch for Bentley comes equipped with a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with no less than 4GB of RAM.
The smartphone packs 64GB of internal memory, which, surprisingly, can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
At the back, the luxury smartphone packs an impressive 21-megapixel photo snapper with phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. Sadly, the front side features a modest 2-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Vertu Signature Touch for Bentley is powered by a 3,160 mAh battery and offers multiple connectivity options such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication), microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS.
Naturally, the smartphone's full HD (1080p) 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display features sapphire crystal glass.
Choose between eight leather colors and 16 stitching options
Design-wise, Vertu Signature Touch features two-tone Beluga and Hotspur Bentley leather, as well as Hotspur stitching.
According to Bentley, the smartphone comes with “knurled side keys, a unique pillow trail and sound bar and a 3D Bentley logo” on the back.
The Signature Touch comes with the usual Vertu suite of apps and services, including the “unique Bentley app” that should provide users with exclusive content, tailored events, and VIP access.
As mentioned earlier, Vertu Signature Touch for Bentley costs $9,000, but that's the base model. Customers can choose between eight leather colors and 16 stitching options, so the price could be higher, depending on the combination you choose.
