Users have to call a hot line

Guitar Hero World Tour has recently been launched and there already are numerous reports regarding problems with the peripherals used to play the music simulation game. This is not good news for a release which lives and dies by the quality of its fake instruments.

Activision, the publisher of the game, states that the drum kit has some “sensitivity issues”. The idea is that players are reporting that they have to hit the drum pads harder than usual in order to make them register a note. Activision says that a “drum tuning kit” will be on the way to solve all the problems. I'm pretty much eager to see what the tuning kit will include. The company adds that the troublesome instruments are likely to be those that were put together early on, when the manufacturing process had some issues. The instruments which are now being produced to be sold as part of Guitar Hero World Tour packages will not have any issue.

Guitar Hero World Tour players who are experiencing problems should also call customer support or visit the official site as soon as they hit a bug. A statement says that “Our goal would be to immediately address any hardware issues Guitar Hero World Tour players have with the game”. There have also been problems reported related to the wireless guitars and to the compatibility with Rock Band 2.

With Guitar Hero World Tour, it is the first time that Activision deals with multiple instruments in one of its music games. Taking into account the fact that Rock Band 2 is already out and that it has had no significant issues on launch, we might just see a Harmonix powered victory in this battle of the music simulators unless Activision works quickly to take care of its customers' problems.
