Australian mobile phone carrier Vodafone has started the roll-out of a software update for its Windows Phone 7 owners on its airwaves, and plans on delivering it to all of them in a two weeks' time.

The software update, which is being pushed by many other wireless carriers around the world to their users as well, comes with various enhancements included into the mix, such as the ability to copy&paste text anywhere on the phone.

The software update started to arrive on unlocked devices last week, and it being pushed to carrier-branded handsets too starting with this week.

The March WP7 NoDo update is rolling out over the next two weeks, customers will get a notification on their phones during this time,” the wireless carrier announced via Twitter.

As stated above, the new software comes with the copy&paste feature, along with some other improvements that should deliver an enhanced experience to all users.

Among them, we can count some performance improvements for applications and games, complemented by a better Marketplace search, and some other improvements as well.

Dubbed NoDo, this is the first major software update that Microsoft delivers for Windows Phone 7 devices, but it is the second such update coming out from Redmond, following a minor software bump, which was pushed out starting with February.

For NoDo, Microsoft already published various support articles, detailing both the update process, and what users could do provided that users encounter various issues with the installation process.

NoDo will be followed by another software update for Windows Phone 7 devices, said to have been codenamed Mango, and expected to arrive with improvements like multitasking, IE9, and more.

For the time being, however, specific info on this update are not available, though Microsoft might unveil more on it at the upcoming MIX11 conference, which should take place next week, between April 12th-April 14th.
