Next week, during the MIX11 conference, held in Las Vegas between April 12th – 14th, Microsoft is expected to unveil some more info on its future plans for the Windows Phone 7 operating system. As expected, the company added a series of sessions to the MIX11 agenda, being set to discuss various aspects of the mobile platforms at the conference, but it seems that it also left some details shrouded in mystery.

Among the WP7 sessions Microsoft plans at MIX11, we can count a boot camp, discussions around a series of APIs for the platform, or some events regarding the building of games for Windows Phone 7, but also sessions that were not unveiled as of yet, it seems.

Joe Belfiore, leader of Windows Phone Program Management, will keynote at the conference, along with Scott Guthrie, who heads Microsoft's .NET Developer Platform, and Windows Internet Explorer Corporate Vice President, Dean Hachamovitch.

This might easily suggest that something involving Windows Phone 7, Internet Explorer and Silverlight, might be announced at the conference, even if Microsoft was not specific on the matter.

In all fairness, we should not be surprised if this supposition would pan out, since Microsoft already confirmed the arrival of Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) on Windows Phone later during the ongoing year, with support for Silverlight and HTML 5.

Hopefully, Microsoft would indeed offer more info on what the next software update for Windows Phone 7 (codenamed Mango and expected to land this fall) would be all about.

We already knew that it should include third-party application multitasking, Twitter integration or support for Office documents in the cloud, among other new features, but exact details on it were still not unveiled until now.

At the same time, there is a great chance that Nokia too would be present that the conference, and that it would unveil some more info on the Windows Phone device it promised for the ongoing year.

But this is not all, that's for sure. Microsoft seems set to further enhance the support, services and features Windows Phone 7 benefits from, and even more announcements on this area might be made at MIX11, so stay tuned to learn more info on this.
