A few weeks ago, software giant Microsoft started the roll-out of a new software update for the users of handsets powered by its Windows Phone 7 operating system, called NoDo, which came with a nice range of enhancements into the mix, including support for Copy&paste features.

Initially available only for the unlocked handsets out there, the software is now rolling out for mobile phones on the airwaves of various wireless carriers as well, and O2 in the UK is among those who started to push it out to users.

Recently, the wireless carrier announced that the roll-out has started on its airwaves, and that its Windows Phone 7 customers should be able to download and install the update in the near future, if they did not receive it already.

When asked about the software update for HTC HD7, the wireless carrier answered: ”Sorry if you haven’t had the update yet. It’s being rolled out from today so it should be with you soon.”

NoDo is the second software update for Windows Phone 7, but it is the first major update for the mobile operating system.

Originally expected to arrive in February or in early March, the software update started to arrive on devices only in late last month, as Microsoft experienced some issues with the delivery of the first Windows Phone 7 update.

Among the enhancements that NoDo comes with, we can count the said inclusion of Copy&paste, along with improved performance levels for applications and games, as well as better Marketplace search, and a series of other changes more.

Following this update, Microsoft is expected to push another major software upgrade to Windows Phone 7 sometime in fall. At that time, the company would add IE9, multitasking, Twitter integration and other enhancements into the mix.

Additional info on the new features inside NoDo can be found here. The update process can be seen explained here for all Windows Phone 7 devices. In case you experience problems with the update, here's a tool that could prove helpful.
