It has been revealed today that Overtime (not the noun), the comedy team behind the hit video series "Mario In MySpace," and Siliconera are teaming up to throw a Nintendo Wii party and comedy show at the Westside Eclectic Theater. The event will be hosted in Santa Monica this Friday (June 22nd).

The official report says that at 9 pm sharp, Overtime will perform a half-hour comedy show featuring Nintendo cartoons and world-premiere videos, after which they're going to turn the Eclectic's big screen into a Wii-lover's paradise, where those present can play American Wii games, retro games, and Japanese import games making their USA debuts! Not appealing enough for you? There will also be free food and plenty of fun! Now we're talking, right?

"Combining things often leads to trouble," says Geoffrey Golden, Overtime writer and co-founder. "However, we're taking a chance and combining a comedy show with a gigantic party where anyone can play Nintendo Wii on a humongous screen. Then we're gonna combine that with free food. It's a gamble, but no one thought peanut butter and jelly would work out, and I ate that kind of sandwich this afternoon."

The Overtime team is also bringing brand new videos to this half-hour sketch comedy show. Then there will be the video game party, where the following games will be available for play: Wii Sports, Super Monkey Ball, Street Fighter II, Mario Kart 64, and rare Japanese Wii games courtesy of Siliconera, including Bleach Wii: Hakujin Kirameku Rondo, Naruto Shippuden: Geiktou Ninja Taisen EX, and more.

A ticket is no more than $5, while the Westside Eclectic is located at 1323-A 3rd St. Promenade, in the alley between 3rd and 4th St one block north of Santa Monica Blvd, as the official report reads. What are you waiting for? Get a ticket and be sure to have a nice gym suit prepared. No polyester!
