Not the traditional fighting game, but making good use of the Wii's controls nonetheless

Although Soul Calibur Legends for the Wii hasn't even been dated, Namco Bandai is known for some time to be working on it. However, this time Namco didn't have the traditional fighting in mind, but more of a third-person action adventure kind of fighting, with Seigfried somewhere in the storyline as well. Favorite classics from the series won't miss either and there will be some new characters as well.

As little as there is known about the story, there's indication that the characters' sole goal is to get hold of "ultimate power," which is to be used to good purpose, of course.

The site also posts a comment from Makoto Iwai, exec. VP and COO of Namco Bandai America, saying: "Over the past ten years, since the release of the original Soul Blade, the team behind the Soulcalibur series has pushed the envelope of technology and innovation with each iteration. With Soulcalibur Legends, they saw the opportunity to once again create an immersive experience that is unique to the franchise."

Although Namco doesn't say anything about the control scheme either, (which should have been in order as it's the Wii we're talking here), it is said to be using both Wiimote and Nunchuck simultaneously. And since it won't be the traditional fighting game that fans were familiar with, the Wiimote and Nunchuck will probably have a lot of movement and one-touch-command features. But until Namco doesn't say anything officially, that remains a guess.
