She may have started her career on what has been described in the media as the most scripted reality show ever to air on television, MTV’s “The Hills,” but Whitney Port is looking to branch out. The actress and fashionista will also be trying her hand at writing, preparing to release a book of advice for young women, as People magazine can confirm.

The book will be called “True Whit” and will see the light of day later on. In it, the star promises to offer women the same age as her advice on how to get over the little daily crisis, backed by her own experience. Since she’s been in the spotlight for quite a few years now, Port should know the do’s and don’ts in many fields, from fashion to makeup and even etiquette – or at least, that’s what we might believe from her writing the book.

“She’s a reality star, a PR-girl and a fashion designer, but now Whitney Port is adding another title to her resume: author. The MTV star, who appeared on The Hills before moving to New York to star in The City, will pen a book, True Whit, for It Books, due out in 2011. In what her publisher describes as a ‘conversational, fun, and candid guide for girls looking to start out [in life] with style,’ the Whitney Eve designer plans to write personal stories, and advice for young women,” People says.

“‘Being a twenty-something can be a difficult phase,’ says Port, 25. ‘There are so many questions, and I wanted to write about my experiences for anyone who needs help navigating through life.’ Among the topics to be covered? Getting rid of puffy eyes, dressing for a date, decorating a tiny apartment, and hosting killer parties. Adds Port: ‘It’s a really fun and fresh how-to-guide where I can share anecdotes that I’ve learned from both work and my personal life’,” the publication further says.

Whitney Port is not the only female celebrity launching a project of this kind. Just recently, Teri Hatcher of “Desperate Housewives” and Disney teamed up to launch a website designed specifically for women, as we also informed you.
