“Twilight” may not have struck the right chord with movie critics, but it certainly has pleased fans, as the $370+ million grossing at the box office clearly demonstrates. Fans all over the world enjoyed it, even if they had not read the original novel beforehand, and that should speak volumes, it has been suggested. One star, though, that cannot understand what the fuss is all about is Whitney Port of “The Hills” fame, according to GossipGirls.

Speaking with MTV, the network that helped her become a star with the reality series (which may or may not be a fake, as contradicting reports have it), Port says that she can’t simply understand what the big deal with “Twilight” was. For starters, the movie is really bad and, to cap it all off, one-dimensional, so there is little the viewer can enjoy while watching it, she believes. There is one reason to watch it, though, and that is Robert Pattinson.

“I haven’t read the books, but I saw the movie.” Whitney Port tells MTV, as quoted by the aforementioned publication. “I thought the movie was really bad. I love whatever his name is... Robert [Pattinson]. I think he’s so good-looking and handsome. I haven’t met him.” the reality star further explains. But that’s not all she has to object about the movie that generated an almost unprecedented following with teens (and not only) all over the world.

According to Port, Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella in “Twilight,” the love interest of Pattinson’s character, is just as bad as the rest of the film. “She’s OK. She seems so serious, like she’s so one-dimensional. I think [Stewart and Pattinson] have good chemistry... I just didn’t think the acting was so good.” the reality star adds.

In all fairness, “Twilight” did not score maximum points with critics, it has been suggested. The consensus of top critics on RottenTomatoes, for instance, is that “having lost much of its bite transitioning to the big screen, ‘Twilight’ will please its devoted fans, but do little for the uninitiated.” Be that as it may, Whitney Port continues to be the first celebrity to speak out in such negative terms about the film, several movie-oriented publications and e-zines are pointing out.
