Rumored more than a week ago, Bell's white Galaxy S II is about to make its debut in Canada this weekend.

According to the guys over at MobilSyrup (via tipster), the white version of the highly acclaimed Galaxy S II smartphone is expected to hit shelves on October 7.

It appears that the phone's price will be similar to the original black version, so customers who want to own one will have to pay $599.95 (about 440 EUR) upfront or $149.95 (roughly 110 EUR) with a new two-year contract.

The white Galaxy S II was released back in June, but it took Samsung several months to introduce it in Canada.

Even though Bell and Samsung confirmed the availability of the superphone “way before” the holiday, no details about the white Galaxy S II's exact release date leaked until recently.

Unfortunately, Android fans living in Canada will only be able to purchase the white Galaxy S II via Bell, at least until the exclusivity period ends.

It will be interesting to see how many customers will be tempted to switch carriers the moment the handset hits shelves this Friday.

Samsung Galaxy S II is the successor of the most popular Android phone launched by the handset maker, the Galaxy S.

Moreover, the smartphone was built on the success of the original model and is expected to surpass the popularity of the Galaxy S in terms of units sold.

For those unfamiliar with the phone's specs, the Galaxy S II is Samsung's Android flagship smartphone and comes with a brilliant Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

The phone is equipped with a dual core 1.2GHz Exynos processor and a Mali-400MP graphics processing unit.

It also packs 16GB/32GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).
