The white flavor of the highly acclaimed Galaxy S II smartphone is now available for Android fans living in the UK.

Not surprisingly for this region, the phone can be obtained for free from Vodafone upon signing up for a two-year, £36 per month price plan.

Softpedia had the chance to play with the white version of the Galaxy S II while we were in Berlin at IFA 2011 trade fair.

Those who think of choosing the white variant of the Galaxy S II, against the more common black version, should know that this could be a blessing, as well as a curse.

While the white color gives the phone an elegant look, it will be very difficult to keep it clean. We also noticed that the plastic doesn't look cheap at all, on the contrary.

However, we are pretty sure that it's the same kind of material used for the black version too, but painted in white.

White Galaxy S II was officially introduced in the UK several days ago, but Vodafone is the second carrier that makes it available for purchase after Three UK.

There are no differences among the black and white variants of the phone, so users will get the same level of functionality and performance regardless of what color they will choose.

The 4.3 incher is equipped with a 1.2GHz processor and runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

It packs 16GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

An 8-megapixel photo snapper is also included on the back of the phone, which is capable of recording full HD (1080p@30fps) videos.

The secondary 2-megapixel front facing camera is also a nice addition and enables users to make and receive video calls.

No word on a possible release in the States anytime soon.
