Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has yet to add to its offering a high-end Nokia smartphone running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system, but it appears that April might be the lucky month for enthusiasts.

The smartphone, spotted online a few times before as the Lumia 928, is now said to have been set for launch for the next month at Big Red, and to arrive on shelves with some appealing specs packed inside.

The handset will feature the codename of Laser and will be launched as a Lumia 920 variant, The Verge reports, in line with previous rumors on the device.

Furthermore, Lumia 928 is said to arrive on shelves with an 8-megapixel PureView photo snapper, and to pair it with a Xenon and LED flash combination.

Additionally, the new Windows Phone 8 smartphone is expected to be both thinner and lighter when compared to Lumia 920. It should be 10.2 thick at its thinnest point, while featuring a slightly curved back.

Moreover, the device is also rumored to sport looks similar to those of Lumia 720, and to feature an aluminum body (which was reported for it before as well).

The same as Lumia 920, the upcoming device is said to sport a 4.5-inch screen, along with a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.

The mobile phone will also include support for simultaneous voice and LTE (SVLTE), a feature that is not present inside all of Verizon’s 4G smartphones, it seems.

For the time being, however, specific info on the handset’s release date and pricing hasn’t been unveiled, though chances are that Verizon and Nokia will announce these details in the near future.

Apparently, Microsoft will get involved in the marketing of Lumia 928 as well, so as to ensure that it enjoys increased popularity among Big Red’s customers. Unfortunately, no official confirmation on this has emerged so far.
