Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has been long rumored to plan the launch of a high-end Nokia Lumia device, recently said to be codenamed Laser and to arrive on shelves as Lumia 928, and confirmation on this seemingly emerged courtesy of a leaked document.

Apparently, the handset is indeed en route to Big Red’s network, as it entered the operator’s internal system on January 17, yet no official confirmation on its arrival has been provided as of now.

Even so, mentions of the Windows Phone 8 device have emerged online before, paired with the presence of a certain Nokia RM-860 handset in the FCC database, which might suggest that an official launch is near.

Provided that previous rumors do pan out, the Lumia 928 should prove an enhanced flavor of the Lumia 920, designed specifically for Verizon’s LTE network.
