Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless will certainly have a busy next year in terms of LTE (Long Term Evolution) devices, and a Samsung mobile phone is expected to be on the list.

We already had the chance to take a look at the upcoming Android-based smartphone from HTC that would pack LTE connectivity on Verizon's airwaves, but it seems that the Incredible HD would have at least one competitor on shelves at the wireless carrier.

The new mobile phone emerged in a photo over at Gizmodo, running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and packing Samsung's TouchWiz interface on to of it.

The available info on this handset suggests that it would also come with a front-facing camera, the first device with this feature on Big Red's offering.

What would be missing from the equation would be Microsoft's Bing as the default search engine for the new mobile phone.

The new LTE handset sports the model number SCH-I520, but its name is not known at the moment. No other info on its hardware specifications emerged for the time being either, nor on its release date or on the price tag it might sport when launched at Verizon.

With the inclusion of this Samsung mobile phone on Verizon's LTE offering, we can now count a number of three smartphones set to land with 4G on board at Big Red next year, as rumors on a possible such phone from Motorola also emerged.

These smartphones might be accompanied on the wireless carrier's network by a series of other LTE-enabled Android devices, including a series of tablets, one of which should come from Motorola, and which already made an appearance into the wild.

Recently, the mobile phone carrier announced that it would unveil more on its LTE-Android plans in early next month, during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Since there are only about two weeks left to the event, we should be able to learn more on the matter soon.
