Uncharted 3, the next iteration in the highly successful third person action adventure franchise, is at the center of some new rumors that have appeared on the web, concerning where the new adventures will take leading man Nathan Drake.

After going through South American jungles and other such settings in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and after going through Nepal and scaling the Himalayas in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the next game will see Nathan Drake go somewhere completely new.

According to an inside source, Sony, the publisher of the franchise, will reveal during or right after the Spike TV Video Game Awards, the first few details about Uncharted 3, and where it will see its action take place.

According to the source, the franchise will go to Africa, and explore the deserts of the large continent, so that Drake will visit the same setting as the inspiration for the series, the Indiana Jones movie franchise.

People shouldn't forget that in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, the famous explorer went through South America, Nepal and then through Egypt, so Uncharted might really be staying true to the famous movie.

As of right now, nothing concrete is known about Uncharted 3, as Sony, its publisher, and Naughty Dog, its developer, declined to comment on if the project even exists.

Last week, Sony did reveal that it will hold a special event in Hollywood on December 12, one day after the Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Already a lot of announcements are set to be held during or around December 11, when the Video Game Awards will take place.

Uncharted fans will also remember that the announcement trailer for the second game, Among Thieves, also premiered during the 2008 edition of the Video Game Awards, so history might be repeating itself once more.

What do you think? Should Uncharted 3 take to the desert for its action or should Nathan Drake go to another place for this adventures?
