Three UK is yet another wireless services provider in the UK to announce the upcoming availability of Sony Ericsson's new Xperia arc smartphone on its airwaves. The new handset would be put on sale sometime in April, the carrier announced.

The new mobile phone was announced officially in early January, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and is expected to make an appearance on the UK market at least at three carriers, including O2, Vodafone, and now Three.

The new Sony Ericsson Xperia arc is one of the slimmest mobile phones on the market, being only 8.7mm thin, but it packs enough raw power to fit the needs of almost any user out there.

Moreover, the device includes a wide range of technology innovations, including a 4.2” touchscreen Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA engine that can deliver clearer and crisper pictures.

Not to mention that the handset runs under Google's new Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, with bring a series of brand new features to the mobile space, including support for NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone would include a 1GHz processor for fast performance levels, along with an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper with HD Video Recording (720p/30fps) with Face Tracking.

Moreover, the handset comes with HDMI Connectivity, the said 4.2” capacitive touch screen, and with support for various services from Google, as well as for applications available for download via the Android Market.

“The Sony Ericsson Arc is a great addition to Three’s range of smartphones,” Sylvia Chind, Head of Branded Devices, said.

“The HD Video recording capability is particularly impressive with its Exmor R sensor and other multimedia features - such as a face detection feature - allowing you to take, watch and share high quality movies. And our award winning 3G network will ensure Three customers enjoy the mobile internet experience at its best.”

Unfortunately, the carrier did not unveil specific info on the handset's availability and pricing, though it promised more details in the near future. They also offered a preview of the mobile phone, in the video embedded below.
