Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson went official at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with a new handset running under Google's Android operating system, the Xperia arc, which has emerged in a series of videos aimed at presenting it in detail.

Since it is official, the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc has already got most of its specifications brought to the spotlight, but there still are some aspects of the device that need to be covered, that's for sure.

The new Android smartphone inherits some of the features that Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 came to the market with, but trades some other features for more responsiveness and increased performance, it seems.

The videos embedded at the bottom of this article should offer a comprehensive preview of the new mobile phone, courtesy of HDBlog.it (via Engadget).

According to them, the handset can deliver better performance levels when compared to the older Xperia Android phones.

Apparently as the Timescape and Mediascape applications from Sony Ericsson are less intrusive than before, something that results in increased responsiveness from the user interface.

With a 1GHz Qualcomm processor inside, and a 4.2-inch touchscreen display (which boast a 854 x 480 pixels resolution) for a great viewing experience, the upcoming Xperia arc would certainly seem like a great options for a lot of end-users out there.

Not to mention that the device sports a very slim design, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video HD capabilities, which was demoed in an official video not too long ago.

But this is not all when it comes to this device, as Sony Ericsson also packed it with a microSD memory card slot with support for additional storage space, as well as with a 1500 mAh battery for extended usage time, and more.

No specific info on when would the new Sony Ericsson Xperia arc land on the market emerged for the time being. Have a look at the videos embedded below to learn more on the upcoming mobile phone.
