Not long ago we have heard about Amoi releasing four budget friendly smartphones, all of them going to be released in China. That piece of info and the fact that they are going to be sporting Microsoft's mobile version of Windows, the Windows Mobile 5.0, were as far as we have been able to get to.

Now this has changed because we've got our hands on something more than just a simple announcement from the mobile phone manufacturer, and that extra information we got is about the spec sheet of the E78 handset.

We ain't got the full specifications but from what we have, you will be able to make an overall picture of what this smartphone will offer and, maybe, you'll also make some decision about what are you going to ask Santa to get you for Christmas (if you're Chinese of course).

This device is going to be a quad-band GSM Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC phone, working on 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz networks and will offer its Chinese users a full featured QWERTY keypad.

Other features include a 2.45 inch QVGA TFT touchscreen, a feature that's going to ease the life of the people trying to type in Chinese characters, and a slim body weighing 131 grams and measuring 115 x 62 x 12.7 mm that makes it a pretty pocket friendly handheld.

If you have not decided yet in its favor and the Christmas wish list doesn't yet contain its name, then you should know this is supposed to be a low-price mobile device.

I don't know if this is true but you're going to find out pretty soon, so keep your pen close because you might have something more to write on the list Santa's going to receive from you.
