Continuing on its tradition on being the first player in the networking market to introduce new high-speed wireless devices, TRENDnet has announced a new 4-port media bridge, designed to connect your Ethernet-ready gaming console, network television or receiver to the web without requiring any wires to be set around your home.

The brand new TEW-680MB bridge will do so at 450Mbps, providing a high performance wireless connection for all networked media center devices while also coming with wireless encryption in order to protect your digital network.

Furthermore, setting up the device is as simple as possible, especially if the wireless router comes with a WPS button, the user only having to press the WPS button on his/her router, then the WPS button on the TEW-680MB, the two devices taking care of the rest of the setup process.

In order to achieve the high speeds touted by TRENDnet, the TEW-680MB uses a dual band technology that enables it to connect to the network using either the common 2.4GHz radio band or over the low interference 5GHz network.

Of course that, reaching the full 450Mbps speed advertised by TRENDnet requires for the media bridge to be connected to a 450Mbps compatible router.

"The TEW-680MB meets real market demand and completes TRENDnet's 450Mbps wireless ecosystem," stated Zak Wood, Director of Global Marketing for TRENDnet. "Other brands only offer a 450Mbps router.

“However you also need a 450Mbps wireless adapter or bridge to maintain 450Mbps wireless speeds. TRENDnet is the only brand to offer 450Mbps routers, adapters, and bridges which empower users for the first time to create a whole-home 450Mbps wireless network," concluded the company's rep.

TRENDnet has began shipping the 450Mbps Dual Band Wireless N HD Media Bridge to its partners and this should become available soon for $169.99 (roughly 120 Euros).
