Canadian mobile phone carrier TELUS is gearing up for the release of a new Samsung Galaxy S device on its airwaves, namely the 4G Galaxy S II X, which is already present on the carrier's website, and which can be admired in the video embedded at the bottom of this article, courtesy of MobileSyrup.

The Samsung 4G Galaxy S II X is said to be none other than the previously rumored Samsung Hercules, and should hit TELUS' airwaves in the near future, though the specific release date has not been unveiled to the world until now.

The mobile phone comes to shelves as a small upgrade when compared to the Galaxy S II flagship device, though it does not include a sliding QWERTY, as the just leaked Samsung Galaxy S Glide does.

For example, the mobile phone will arrive in the hands of TELUS' customers with a faster application processor than the original Galaxy S II.

The new handset packs a 1.5GHz dual core CPU, while the original device included a 1.2GHz dual-core chip.

Moreover, it also comes with a larger display, a 4.5-inch screen, unlike the Galaxy S II, which hit the shelves with a 4.3-inch panel on the front. It is a Super AMOLED Plus WVGA screen, 4G Galaxy S II X' specs list shows.

On the back, the new mobile phone sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper that can record videos in full 1080p HD resolution, complemented by a 2MP camera on the front, with video calling capabilities.

The handset will also include NFC capabilities, along with support for the carrier's fast 4G network (HSPA+), WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver, and the like.

The new smartphone runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and offers support for a wide range of applications and games available for download via the Android Market, as well as for various Google Mobile Services.
