The HTC HD2 can be easily considered to best Windows Mobile-based device that became available for purchase last year, yet it seems that the Taiwanese-based HTC Corporation hasn't packed it will all that it could. The device is set to make an appearance on T-Mobile's airwaves in the US in the near future, and will do so with some more power than before.

According to the specifications list of the handset that will be launched on the US market (available at HTC), the new version includes upgraded hardware components when compared to the version that landed on the market in Europe and Asia. The main difference can be seen in the amount of RAM and ROM it will include, which are 576MB and 1GB, respectively, when compared to the 448 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM the currently available model includes.

Other than that, the specs of HD2 are already known: a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor inside, 4.3-inch HD touch-sensitive screen that boasts a WVGA resolution, 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED Flash, FM Radio, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi (802.11 b/g), microSD memory card slot (SD 2.0 compatible) with support for 32GB cards, 3.5 mm headset jack, GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and WCDMA/HSPA: 1700 MHz (AWS) / 2100 MHz connectivity, a 1230 mAh battery and Windows Mobile 6.5 with HTC Sense on top of it.

At the same time, we should also mention that HD2 will arrive at T-Mobile with a 16GB microSD card included in the package, something that increases its appeal quite a lot when compared to the 2GB card it arrives with in other markets. In other words, it seems that US users will be getting a nicely updated HD2, most probably one that also runs under the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system.

Up until now, US users were left outside a little when it comes to the functionality some of the latest handsets were capable of delivering. Two of the hottest recent Android-based devices, the Motorola DROID and Nexus One by HTC came to the market without multi-touch features, while they included the capabilities overseas, but it seems that the tables turned in their favor with HTC HD2.
