At the beginning of this month, wireless carrier T-Mobile US has expanded one of the most popular families of devices available for its customers, the myTouch 3G series. Following last year's release of its original myTouch 3G, the carrier delivered a myTouch 3G Fender Edition at the beginning of this year, along with a T-Mobile myTouch 3G 3.5mm Jack soon after, and released a T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide in early June.

The last device in the series, the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, comes with improved functionality over the previous version, along with a new, important feature brought into the mix, namely a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Among the other capabilities of the device, we can count the Genius button, which is brought to light in the clip below.

As one can easily see in the video, the focus with the new device is on the mass market, and not on the high-end segment. The commercial features a family, which is getting ready for a trip, using the handset's Genius button to find an ice cream parlor and a shopping mall, even if they are placed in the woods. When one presses the button, the phone's voice command capabilities are activated, and performing a search or sending a text message becomes a simple, easy task.

Of course, this button is not the only feature the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide comes to the market with. A large 3.4-inch touchscreen display is also present there, with Swype keyboard pre-loaded, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper, and a nice range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, or Stereo Bluetooth.

The handset measures 2.3 x 4.5 x 0.6 inches and weighs in at 5.9 ounces. It is powered by a 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery that can offer up to 4 hours of talk time. The phone is available for purchase from T-Mobile with a price tag of $179.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement.
