A Walkman phone that doesn't compromise on its camera

Sony Ericsson has released several handsets today, most of which we already knew about. While the release of the W880 was definitely not unexpected for anyone, few things have been said about the W610.

It has been recently FCC approved but that's as much as most people knew about it. The mobile phone is meant to be a more successful combination between mobile music capabilities and a built-in camera.

Sony Ericsson is known for releasing either phones with pretty bad cameras and advanced music capabilities or phones with good cameras and low storage capacity or lack of music features.

So this would pretty much be the first phone they are releasing that is aiming to do a little bit of both. It comes with a 512MB Memory Sitck Micro (M2) in the box, Walkman 2.0 player, Track ID music recognition, Bluetooth with A2DP support, RDS FM Radio, Push Email, Full HTML browser and a 1.9 inch 262k color TFT LCD display.

Aside from that, it comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera with auto focus, video recording capabilities and a horizontal camera menu that will allow the user to hold the phone just like a regular camera when taking snapshots.

Summing up all the features, the W610 isn't all that different from the W880, the only main reason to choose one over the other being the design.

It is said to last up to 7 hours of talk time, 25 hours of music playing time and will come in two color versions, Plush Orange and Satin Black. The mobile phone works on 850/900/1800/1900 and will be available starting the second quarter of this year.
