Looks like Sony Ericsson has a whole bunch of phones to release, if one chooses to believe all the rumors floating around the Internet. While at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Sony Ericsson didn't really surprise us with any outstanding new mobile phones, rumor has it that they are cooking up several new handsets, one of which is supposed to be Nokia N95's future rival.

I'll start by saying that rumors do not offer any real information in many cases. But then again there's generally a bit of truth behind everything, so don't rush to believe it from the start as time and official information will tell if this is really true.

Sony Ericssson's lineup of phones for 2007 has been highly debated over on the Esato forums and it looks like their series of phones will be growing with at least six new phones.

Among those phones, Sony Ericsson is expected to present a K800 successor, going under the name of "Sofia" that is said to come equipped with a 5 megapixel camera, UMTS and QVGA video recording.

A HandyCam phone seems to also be part of the plan and it is said to come in a slider form factor and bring superior video recording capabilities.

Although not as interesting as the two phones mentioned before, it looks like Sony Ericsson is also planning a M600 successor dubbed "Elena" that is to come with WiFi and a 3.2 megapixel camera and "Maria", an upgraded W950 which is also supposed to feature a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Another phone mentioned there is the Ai, but this Walkman phone has already been officially confirmed by the mobile phone manufacturer and it should be showing up pretty soon. And while with the Ai, most rumors were completely true, but the phone wasn't as spectacular as some might have wished, let's hope that these rumors are not too good to be true and that the mobile phone manufacturer actually has made plans to develop and release all these nice handsets.
