A low-end walkman phone with a VGA camera

New photos of the Ai appeared yesterday, and today is the day for another Sony Ericsson phone to show its face. This time it's about the W200i, that was recently approved by the Federal Communication Commission, just like the North American version, W200a, that we only saw the back of, so far, due to lack of any other photos.

As you can probably tell from the photo, the W200i is very similar to the older W800i, at least if you judge it by design, and it is meant to target the basic user who also happens to be a music fan.

Therefore, the W200i is a low end mobile phone that will include a VGA camera with a quick access button on the side, but without flash, Walkman software and a built-in FM Radio.

And judging from Sony Ericsson's previous releases, because this phone is out of the W series and therefore a walkman phone, the camera will definitely not be of very high quality. Just as in the case of other Sony Ericsson mobile phones manufactured to please the music enthusiasts, the phone will also feature a M2 memory stick slot for memory expansion.

Infrared is also present, but not Bluetooth, therefore using a wireless headset for listening to music will not be possible. Sony Ericsson's decision to cut down on the features drastically and keep only what's needed can clearly be considered a sign that points out the low cost of the phone. Therefore, the W200i, equipped with a 176 x 220 pixel screen, will most likely be launched with a very affordable price.
