Samsung's new range of commercial displays includes a set of panels intended for use in videowalls, making sure to deliver a measure of affordability, not just image quality and performance.

As some end-users will have no doubt learned by now, Samsung announced four full sets of professional, commercial displays.

All of them are intended for professional use and have display sizes of 40 inches or above, but their other features make them better suited for some tasks than others.

The HE Series, for instance, is intended for moderate-use scenarios, like in lobbies or medical offices, while the ME collection works best in digital signage.

The third line of large LCDs (liquid crystal displays) is the UE series and is composed of two models, with diagonals of 46 inches and 55 inches, respectively.

Dubbed UE46A and UE55A, these two are set to start shipping in the third quarter of 2011, for the prices of $2,455 and $3,507, respectively.

Samsung has already put them on display at InfoComm 2011 at the Orange County Convention in Orlando, Florida.

The native resolution of both is, naturally, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, while their viewing angles are 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically, like that of all other newly-unleashed products.

Also, 3D is supported, thanks to the refresh rate of 240 Hz, while the brightness is of 450 nits and the frame thinness of 29.9mm.

Meanwhile, the contrast ratio is of 5,000:1, while the DisplayPort and HDMI connectivity handle the content delivery part.

Finally, Samsung threw in a pair of 10W speakers, along with the MagicInfo technology that allows digital signage to be delivered via USB.

All in all, the two newcomers aren't the most affordable of their lot, but they aren't overly expensive either and feature a brightness level that is definitely an asset for their intended purpose (videowall applications).
