Verizon has announced the release of the Samsung Trance U490 on its airwaves, just as it promised a few weeks ago, and it seems that the Verizon-branded Samsung Trance is indeed capable of delivering to users all the goodies that previously leaked details on it have showed, which means it comes with a wide range of music capabilities, meant to make enthusiasts rejoice.

For starters, there is the sound technology provided by Bang & Olufsen's ICEpower amplifier, which comes along with a music player that also supports V CAST Music with Rhapsody, and the device also includes 1GB of internal memory space, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

Other specs of the new Samsung Trance U490 include a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, along with Bluetooth connectivity, as well as support for mobile Web and mobile e-mail (IMAP, SMTP, POP3 and Web-based), and SMS and MMS messaging. The handset comes with a 2.1-inch display that can provide a 176 x 220 pixel resolution as well as support for 262K colors, and also sports video playback capabilities.

When it comes to the frequency bands supported, we should mention CDMA 800/1900MHz, and there are also a 3.5mm headset jack and a 1,000-entry phonebook included in the package, as well as alarm clock, world clock, calculator with converter and stopwatch.

The Samsung Trance U490 comes on Verizon with a battery able to provide up to 4.5 hours of talk time, as well as up to 12 days of stand-by time. The handset measures 102mm x 51mm x 15mm (4in x 2in x 0.6in) and weighs 99g (3.5oz). The device will become available on Verizon starting tomorrow, at a price tag of $49.99 on a contract agreement and after a $50 rebate, while sporting two color schemes, Electric Red or Piano Black.
