Not longer than two weeks ago, Samsung has showcased its first Android tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, during an event tour that included a few major cities in Romania. The tablet is slated to be released in Romania at the end of October, but what's interesting is the fact that it was already localized.

Unfortunately, this worked against the Korean manufacturer, as journalists that attended these events noticed some awkward translations from English to Romanian language.

One of the “weirdness ” regards the Home button which was wrongfully translated as “Pornire” instead of “Acasa”. As you can see in the pictures, the operating system automatically abbreviated the word “Pornire” and the result was not that fortunate.

After the issue was reported it seems that Samsung took care of the problem and replaced the word “Pornire” with “Acasa”, which means “Home”.

The good news is that the tablet wasn't on the market yet and Samsung could correct the problem easily.

Still, it seems that the Romanian language package installed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab is the same as the one found on the highly-acclaimed Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.

Even though most of the Romanian Galaxy S owners prefer to keep their smartphones in English, as soon as you change it to Romanian you get a lot of weird translations.

I have checked for the incriminated word on a Samsung Galaxy S, and I wasn't too surprised to find it there. Yes, Samsung Galaxy S, as you can see in the screenshot, comes with “Porn.” included.

Perhaps the Korean manufacturer will take into consideration this amusing fault and correct it, just as they did with the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

This will probably require an OTA update of some sort, that should be pushed only to Romanian users.
