South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is expected to bring to the market in the near future a new smartphone running under Google's Android operating system, the Samsung Galaxy R, which can now be seen in the video embedded at the bottom of this article. The handset was previously spotted into the wild as the Samsung Galaxy Z, but some of the previous rumors on it suggested that might have been renamed to Galaxy R, and that it should hit the market in the not-too-distant future.

While Samsung has already denied the existence of a Galaxy R smartphone, new rumors on the matter say otherwise.

[admark=1]To be more precise, the handset vendor said that the smartphone was not yet confirmed for the UK market, which means that it might be announced soon.

The handset is being demoed in the video embedded below, which clearly shows that Samsung is set to bring such a new device to the market.

Rumor has it that the device would arrive on shelves with a dual-core Tegra 2 processor inside, which was clocked in at 1GHz.

This should make the smartphone a little slower than the Samsung Galaxy S II, which packs a 1.2GHz application processor from Samsung.

Moreover, the Galaxy R is said to come with a smaller screen too, at only 4.2-inch (also, it would be a Super LCD display, and not the Super AMOLED Plus on Galaxy II).

On the back, the new device might sport a 5-megapixel photo snapper with support for 720p HD video recording capabilities, and could also include 8GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The specifications list of this device would also include WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as built-in GPS receiver, and FM Radio.

So far, nothing has been unveiled on the phone's availability, but the guys over at Samsung Hub note that it should hit shelves in Europe, South West Asia, China and Middle East soon.
