Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is getting ready to launch some new mobile phones on its airwaves, including the Android-based Samsung Gem and Samsung Fascinate, both of which emerged over at Best Buy.

We already knew that Big Red was readying the release of Fascinate, it own version of the popular Galaxy S, but no specific details on the handset's landing were unveiled until now.

However, since the two devices emerged on September issue of Best Buy’s mobile buyers guide, chances are that they are set to make an appearance at the carrier in the very near future.

Moreover, it seems that the Samsung Fascinate also started arriving in Verizon stores, something meant to further confirm the phone's close release date.

Some of the previous rumors on Fascinate suggested that the wireless carrier might be readying it for a September 9 release.

Best Buy notes that the new device is “coming soon,” but does not offer exact info on when it would be put on sale, even if it has made it available for pre-order since last week.

Until more info on the Samsung Fascinate's release emerge, one can have a look at the promo video with the device, available at the bottom of this article.

As for the Samsung Gem, it is expected to land at Verizon as an entry-level Android 2.1-based mobile phone.

All dressed up in black, the upcoming mobile phone should include a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, as well as GPS receiver, Wi-Fi connectivity options, and 16GB of storage via microSD memory card slot.

The handset is expected to include Samsung's proprietary UI overlay, TouchWiz, as well as the Swype on-screen software keyboard.

Also with a coming soon label attached to it, the Samsung Gem can be seen at Best Buy here, and should be launched on the market later during this month.

Hopefully, it won't be too long before Verizon Wireless decides to make the new Android-based mobile phones available for its users, especially since other carriers already launched their own flavors of Galaxy S.
