South Korean electronics maker Samsung has recently announced its new flagship mirrorless camera, the NX30, which comes with a few notable improvements over its predecessor, including: tiltable EVF, fully articulated touchscreen display, as well as improved Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities.

In addition to that, the company has also announced the successor of the award-winning Galaxy camera, the Galaxy Camera 2, featuring a faster 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, as well as the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Besides these two pieces of news, the South Korean manufacturer has added two new lenses to its NX interchangeable-lens lineup, one addressed to premium customers, while the other is more consumer-oriented and aims to provide a better alternative to the kit lens.

The new Samsung 16-50mm f/2-2.8 S ED OIS is the company's first premium “S” designated lens that aims to provide end users and photography enthusiasts with a 3x zoom lens featuring the largest aperture available among equivalent class lenses.

This lens also comes with an improved Stepping Motor(SM) called Ultra-Precise Stepping Motor (UPSM), which is three times more precise than the classic SM, offering you enhanced focus in any conditions.

The lens construction features 18 elements in 12 groups including 3 Aspherical, 2 Extra-low Dispersion, and 2 Xtreme High Refractive elements designed to minimize flare, ghosting, and chromatic aberrations.

The consumer-oriented 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS lens offers a better alternative to the current kit lenses and stands out with its low zooming noise, silent auto focusing and weighs only 111g (0.24 lb).

Another great feature of this lens is the integrated Electro zoom with a seesaw type button that allows photographers to zoom in by simply clicking the button. In addition to that, the lens also comes with built-in optical image stabilization, i-Function, and UPSM that allows you to take high-quality photos and videos in any conditions.

The company is yet to announce pricing and availability of these two lenses. For more information, you can check out the official press release.
