14 DAY TRIAL // There might still be hope for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as a couple. Even though she cheated on him with Rupert Sanders, a married filmmaker, Rob might be on his way to forgiving her because he's finally speaking to her again.
The scandal broke a short while ago, after photos of Kristen kissing Sanders in a parking lot emerged online.
He is still wearing his wedding band, which could mean that his wife, Liberty Ross, has decided to believe him that this was just an “indiscretion” and to take him back.
Robert, on the other hand, moved out of the house he shared with Kristen and is now believed to be finding some comfort and consolation with Reese Witherspoon at her California ranch.
Initially, he was so upset that he wouldn't even take Kristen's phone calls or reply to her texts, but he seems to have had a change of heart as far as that is concerned, Radar Online reports.
Even so, odds are still very much against Kristen and a reconciliation, says the same media outlet.
“Kristen’s camp has said that it was a one time indiscretion, but that doesn’t seem to matter to her boyfriend. He ignored her 'tearful texts' and multiple phone calls, but finally relented and has slowly started to speak to her again, but it may be too late,” Radar writes.
“Rob just isn’t going to be able to get beyond the cheating – one time or not,” an insider is quoted as saying.
While all this drama is playing out in the pages of the tabloids, the people at Summit Entertainment, the movie studio behind the “Twilight” franchise, are trembling in fear that the scandal might hurt the film's chances at the box office.
A fifth and final installment comes out in November this year and the fact that Kristen cheated on Rob could potentially make it harder for fans to buy into their onscreen love story, it is being said.
Rob too is dreading the day he has to start promoting the film with Kristen because that would mean being in the same room as her, when all he can think of right now is to put some distance between them.
