Online services are some of the most important aspects of consoles these days, as many gamers want to go online with their device and interact with other people, and, at the same time, be able to enjoy downloading demos and other resources at high speeds from their home.

While the Xbox 360 currently has the upper hand with its Live service, its opponents, the Wii and PlayStation 3, also have some interesting things. But the most promising aspect is PlayStation Home, which is a social platform designed to make gamers interact with each other and take part in interesting activities.

We've already seen some interesting areas join Home, and now one of the biggest franchises from Sony, Resistance, will also make its appearance in this online service. The new zone will, at first, be host to a turret shooter mini-game, for players need to take down the enemy ships as they want to land on the war-torn area. Those who have the best skills will appear on a global leaderboard and will receive prizes from Sony and Insomniac Games, which has developed all of the Resistance titles.

However, the Four Barrels of Fury mini-game won't be the only activity in this new area in Home, as players can interact with each other and find people with which to play Resistance 2, which can be launched straight from that space, without having to close Home and navigate the XMB in order to launch it the old-fashioned way.

Also, Sony community managers and developers from Insomniac will appear from time to time and take part in activities with the people found in this new area. Look forward to exploring this new Resistance space starting today, only in Home. Here's a video to show you just what you might expect.
