Capcom's Resident Evil franchise is one of the most popular and best-selling series of titles for the Japanese company. With the arrival of the first game many years ago, fans were enticed by the survival horror genre that the franchise had created and loyally bought anything related to it.

Even though it didn't manage to equal the great title that was RE4, the recently released Resident Evil 5 managed to move a lot of copies all around the world, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

Now, the Japanese company is preparing to launch the game for the PC, as part of its pledge to help the platform. Up until now we only knew that the game would support Nvidia's GeForce 3D Vision technology, but now Capcom has revealed the official release date of the game, which is September 18 across European territories, as well as the minimum and recommended system requirements that must be met to run the zombie horror game.

Besides the support for the 3D technology, for which you need to buy the wireless 3D Vision glasses separately, it will also feature Stereoscopic 3D in all of its cutscenes. Other interesting improvements are new costumes for the main characters, Chris and Sheva, but also a new Mercenaries mode, which can boast over three times as many enemies as the console versions.

Here are the complete specifications your gaming rig needs to comply with in order to run the game:

Minimum Requirements: OS: Windows XP CPU: Intel PentiumD Processor AMD Athlon64 X2 RAM: Windows Vista (1GB) Windows XP (512MB) HDD: 8.0GB or more Graphics: VRAM (256MB) DirectX9.0c/Shader 3.0 NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro Sound: DirectSound Compatible (DirectX9.0c or higher)

Recommended Requirements: OS: Windows Vista CPU: Intel Core2Quad Processor or better AMD Phenom X4 or better RAM: Windows Vista (2GB or more) Windows XP (1GB or more) HDD: 8.0GB or more Graphics: VRAM (512 or more) NVIDIA GeForce 9800 series or better ATI Radeon HD 4800 series or better Sound: DirectSound Compatible (DirectX9.0c or higher)

Overall, some pretty steep requirements, but in order to experience the rich world of Resident Evil 5 sacrifices need to be made.
