DRM measures also revealed

Capcom is a company with some very big franchises that have sold quite a lot all over the world and have a big number of fans. But the company, while very successful when it comes to consoles and arcades, hasn't been having the best of luck on the PC.

That is, up until now, as the company has entered the PC Gaming Alliance and promises to bring all of its newest titles to the old platform in order to please gamers who don't really like consoles. We've seen that titles such as Street Fighter IV or Resident Evil 5 will appear in the near future on PC with some special features added.

Now, Christian Svensson from Capcom talks about the PC version of the company's zombie shooter and reveals that “something special” will be added but, as the game doesn't even have a concrete release time frame for the PC, he can't go into details about these new things.

“There will be “something” specific to RE5 PC. I’m not able to provide details at this time. We’re still in the optimization process but I would expect similar performance/hardware requirements to Devil May Cry 4. Our DRM policy for RE5 isn’t finalized, but I suspect it will be similar to what we’ve done with SFIV (which is to say, disc-based SecuROM for retail requiring disc-in-tray for play). Digital DRM, I can’t speak to yet.”

So it seems that Capcom is quite bent on selling even more copies of RE5 once it reaches PCs and it will bring new content to it in order to make players more attracted to the zombie shooter. Hopefully, in order to even things out, the new things will also be brought to the consoles in the form of DLC when the PC version will be released.
