RIM Brings a Localized Version of Bold 9780 to Vietnam

Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion and Brightstar Corp. have just announced that a localized flavor of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone is on its way to the market in Vietnam.

The smartphone will arrive on shelves with an easy-to-use Vietnamese keypad and will also sport a localized user interface, the handset vendor announced.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 also sports an elegant style, as well as great communications and multimedia features, being powered by the company's BlackBerry 6 operating system.

“The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is a powerful and feature-rich smartphone with an exceptional keyboard and a compact and stylish design,” Dany Bolduc, vice president of Vietnam at RIM, stated.

“It comes with the BlackBerry 6 operating system to deliver a truly outstanding mobile experience. We are confident that the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and its localized features will be well received by customers in Vietnam.”

BlackBerry Bold 9780 arrives on shelves in Vietnam with support for 3G networks, as well as with Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities, and with built-in GPS receiver for location-based applications and geo-tagging.

On the back, the mobile phone sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, image stabilization, flash and video recording capabilities.

Moreover, the handset was packed with a microSD memory card slot to allow the expansion of its 512 MB Flash memory by up to 32GB.

Through the BlackBerry 6 operating system, it will offer a localized Vietnamese user interface, along with a rich WebKit-based browser for fluid navigation.

It also comes with various social networking features, such as BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, as well as with RSS feeds (Social Feeds) and with support for various messaging applications.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone was made available through Brightstar Vietnam Distribution, and can be found at authorized resellers.
